About Me

Jacqueline Nelson: Jacqueline is a Maine born artist and a student at Boise State University. She is currently working toward her BFA in Art Education and a BFA in Visual Arts with an emphasis in Art Metals. Jacqueline will graduate in December 2011. Her focus in art includes her concern for the environment coupled with budget cuts in education that have affected art room’s nation-wide. Many of her lesson plans are developed around the use of recycled materials, in an effort to show that art can still be taught in the schools for a much lower cost than in the past. Jackie’s dream is to apply to graduate school so that she can practice Art Therapy to help children and adults who battle serious illnesses, abuse, post traumatic stress issues and disabilities. Her future plans also include re-opening her art studio to serve those in her community who may not otherwise have the advantage of art classes.
