This is what has taken up most of our summer so far. James did a powerpoint slide show of the garden but I couldn't up load it. Still learning how. Anyway the garden is 35 feet by 200 feet and it contains corn, radishes, cukes, tomatoes, potatos, peas, sugar snap peas, turnip, carrots, pumpkins, pie pumpkins, watermelon, bush beans, pole beans, white onions, red onions, and a variety of peppers. We have already picked four huge batches of radishes, and two big batches of lettuce. We are sharing our crops with friends and neighbors, which was our plan anyway. It's been fun to see peoples faces when we arrive on their doorstep with fresh veggies (unless they call the police while James is ringing their doorbell, yes that happened). Can't wait to share more. It has been a lot of work, we usually go out at night when it is cooler. We have a rodent who has already eaten some of our radishes I hope the little stinker burned his tongue. I only found one that had been half eaten, I think that was enough for him. Now we just have to keep him away from our turnip and our carrots. James has put the most time in so far, he is there about every third night, Olivia and I are there a few nights a week and some days. This garden is our first out West, it has been interesting using irrigation rather than depending on the natural rain which we get very little of out here and the irrigating is kind of tricky. You have to plant things just right in order to get it to work. Can't wait for the corn. We have been blessed with plenty of rain since we planted and we are grateful for that.
